New for 2017 in the Hyundai Tucson SUV

Engine & Performance in the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

For the 2017 model year, the Hyundai Tucson offers up two choices for engines and two transmission options as well:

  • Standard on the SE trim, a 2.0-liter inline-four engine kicks out 164 horses and 151 pound-feet of torque. This engine is married to a standard six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® ability.
  • This engine is quickly replaced higher in the trim tree; starting with the Eco trim and above, you'll see a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that serves up 175 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. This engine gets paired to a seven-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission with Drive Mode Select.
  • All trims are standard as front-wheel drive (FWD) configurations, though all-wheel drive (AWD) is available as an option at each trim.

Safety Technology in the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

  • Standard Safety Technology: Across all trim levels, the 2017 Hyundai Tucson offers a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System, a Remote Keyless Entry system with an alarm, a Rearview Camera, as well as Vehicle Stability Management and Electronic Stability Control systems.
  • Available Safety Technology: In addition to what is offered standard, the 2017 Tucson offers a Driver's Blind Spot Mirror on the SE and Eco trims, while the Sport and Limited trims replace this with a Blind Sport Detection (BSD) system. These trims also bring in Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Lane Change Assist. Available only as add-ons at the highest trim level, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Rear Parking Sensors serve to round out a robust safety technology offering.
